iPod now have a new threat. The Nokia N91 is the roaring new kid on the block for the MP3 players line up. If the iPod mini (1st Gen) comes with a booming small size and awesomely quite design and colors, not to mention its 4Gb hard disk to put 1000 songs. And then Singapore based, Creative, answer the MP3 war with its mesmerizing blue light MP3, the Zen micro. It is smaller, built in radio, longer battery power, more color choices and bigger capacity (5gb) than the iPod mini. However the loosing point to Zen is the addiction of Apple'ss customer to its cute design. Now the battle continues with the new 2nd Generation iPod mini (5Gb) and two new Zen of 4 and 6Gb capacity.
With all the numerous function, form and design that all the MP3 player makers throw out in to the battle to win the game, they should be worry now with the new Giants coming in to the battlefield.
Nokia just released in their website the new Nokia N series which will be coming out soon. Not sure how soon it is though. All other major mp3 player maker a lot functions in their products to fight against each other. But how do you fight a built in active matrix display, built in radio, hi quality Hi-Fi Sound? A built in camera, games, Wi-fi? How about a 3G phone with 3band+EGPRS+WCDMA+EDGE network, 2-mega pixel camera, WLAN 802.11 b/g, Connectivity of USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. Well I think this is an unfair competition. But you know what people said, the world is always been unfair. I donât know what will iPod answer to this.
On top of my head, an iPod with built in PALM Smart Phone, iPod+Treo 650 will definitely kill the Nokia N series.
