Lah..Loh..Leh..Is just some of the jargon that Singaporean add in their English dictionary. Well its actually not even a word, in the sense that it doesn't carry any meanings. The mixture of Chinese (mandarin, hokkien, and other dialect), Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Indian (Tamil, Hindi) with English which combines to become Sing-Lish (Singapore English). You can check here for Singlish History. Many of the new vocabularies was adopted from these languages and dialects. They mixed up with English to become, what Singaporean called Rojak (red: mixture of anything) language. When i first step my foot in Singapore, i never forget the time when I got into the bus and heard the bus driver talked on the phone. I thought he was speaking in mandarin, but it’s strange that some of the words are in English. To my surprise, everybody speak in the same way. Unfortunately after a few years, it is no longer strange to me, because I am now part of it. Well anyway I don’t think there is anything wrong in using Singlish, even its kindda fun. Now Singlish even has its own Oxford Dictionary called: "Coxford Singlish Dictionary" Now Starting from the year 2000, Singapore start a movement called the Speak Good English Movement. But what is actually good English? I think everyone have their own way in using English, even dictionary have different version. Australian have their own way in speaking English, American feel that their English is the best, but from the word "English" surely the British think that their English is the one others should follow. What do you think?

Btw, I just realize today is Friday the 13th......spooky.....

Hehehe... Betul tuh ama Titin, good English tuh masalahnya bukan di logat, but good grammar and vocab. Tapi Singlish enak juga kok ngomongnya. Correct or not??? Easier lah to speak Singlish. No need to think one! Just said it lor. Hehehe... =P
