The Powerbook G5 in only a myth
I was so surprised this morning to read today's Strait Times. It says that Apple is going Intel. After decade going strong with the IBM chip PowerPC G4 and the latest PowerPC G5, finally mac going for Intel chip. Strait times said that one of the reasons is because the G5 is too hot for the PowerBook and not enough space for more fans. The PowerBook G4 has been around for about more than three years, starting with the first 15-inch Titanium G4. And then followed by the latest 12-inch and 17-inch PowerBook Aluminum. That’s when i got my first apple, the very first edition PowerBook G4 12-inch with built in SuperDrive, Airport Express (Wi-Fi G) and Bluetooth. Where at that point of time no laptop yet has those built in. Even after 2 years my PowerBook still going strong, even still faster compare to my office laptop Intel Pentium 2 Ghz Compaq EVO, even my PB only run on PowerPC G4 867MHz. Have been waiting for the new PowerBook, but now I think its only a myth. Maybe the next PowerBook will have the "Intel inside" sign.

The rumour of apple moving to Intel has been flying around for weeks. It has just been officially announced by Apple recently
Yoi sen, tadinya cm rumour, tapi baru kemarin tepatnya si Steve jobs confirm...makanya baru masuk koran hari ini..tapi gk tau d taktiknya si steve kali ini bakal berhasil...
at least, bisa nyobain nginstall OS X di kompie gua, huahuhuaha....
Time changes, environment changes, and business strategy changes as well. I guess this is one of those extreme strategy that Steve Jobs is trying (and everything came alright in the past..).
I guess Apple has lost dominance in Hardware Market. iPod is the tactic that is lifting Apple from the crisis in 1990-s and Steve Jobs was recruited back to helm the Apple
Well thats the business tactic. But I like when apple is different from the rest, its makes them special and unique. I hope even they use Intel chip, i think they will do something with it so that it only can run on MAC OS and the normal Intel for PC cant run MAC OS.
Just a though, why Apple does not continue to developed their PDA, which i believe the first PDA ever made was by apple named Newton MessagePad. Maybe come out with a Phone hybrid PDA..or merge it with Ipod..isn't awesome...
