Indonesian NTU Alumni

Last sunday I was invited to set up NTU Indonesian Alumni. I was quite suprised that last week I received a call from Singapore saying that they are going to form a protem committee for Indonesia NTU Alumni. Well I thought it would be nice to set up the Indonesian NTU association in Jakarta. Two officers from NTU alumni affairs office came down to Jakarta. And to my surprise those who attended this meeting was mostly old, even some of them graduated before I born...hehehe...They are from Nanyang different chapters which are NU (Nanyang/Nantah University), NTI (Nanyang Technological Institure), NTU (Nanyang Technological University) and also NIE (National Institute of Education). I was the youngest and the only full time NTU bachelor graduate, the rest are NU, NTI, NTU master's and NIE grads.

Anyway, in the morning we were talking about the basic foundation of this alumni association, whether it is going to be a formal or an informal association. We had a long talk, and the outcome is not so effective, I would say. Because it is quite difficult to join three different generations into one idea. It is concluded that we are going to have another meeting on the 29th this month for the follow up.

In the evening we had a dinner in Dragon City Seafood Restaurant at Plaza Lippo. The dinner was attended with more alumni, and thank God I finally met someone I knew, two of my senior from MPE. In the dinner it was basically an informal meeting to review the morning meeting to those who can't make it.

The next meeting wil be to appoint the pro-tem committee and to set up the alumni association and the next activities is going to be the launch of this alumni association which hopefully will be attended by NTU President.
